"Lorenel" a beautiful and unique name. Define as "Strong"in chinese. IBU NAZ.

Being at Bandung, Indonesia at first is really a culture shock for me though we have attended cultural orientation through online. I must say that it is very different from our country, Philippines. Most of the foods were spicy , some smells like durian and there is also an appetizer, a different appetizers that is delicious. In my one month stay there, i also observed that most of the people or residents there, majority were muslims. The people were really practicing their religion almost everyday and from time to time like for example they pray at 12noon everyday, 6:30am, 3:00pm and 7:30pm with what they called the "Imam". One of their culture also is by eating at the fast food chains only with a hand which we are amazed. Smoking in public is allowed but drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited. the people also disciplined in terms of crossing the road and you can see that they observed the sense of responsibilities like for example praying everyday wherever they which does not only a culture but also as a responsibility of a human. Another thing is that, they value much their traditional ways and beliefs, like the angklung performances which now a tourist spot. As a mapeh major students, i really did appreacite the nature of playing the Wayang Golek Puppet, the Arumba and Angklung Performance.

Another encounter with the Indonesian Culture is that, Male and female don't get along together well because for them, you can only talk to someone if he/she is your partner except inside the classroom setting (teamwork activity).
